March, 2022 Paper Pumpkin -- Beyond the Horizon

I received this month's Paper Pumpkin, Beyond the Horizon, this last Monday.  I was excited to get this as I knew the kit would contain something similar to the New Horizon Designer Series Paper. The cards were made with the scenic views of the New Horizon series. What was fun about this set is that they included two different stamp sets!  The smaller one seemed to be the set that was originally chosen for this Paper Pumpkin kit.

With the contents found inside the package, I created one card of each design that they gave instruction for.

Next, I took the larger stamp pad and created some alternatives.

This kit was a lot of fun to do!  The next one is all about growth and change!  You will have until April 10th to order it.  Go to my shop to get yours today!

Northern LIghts

I have seen several demonstrators show how to make a Northern Lights card.  I had always wanted to learn.  I have thought they are very pretty cards.  I started my search on how I wanted to make mine, watching several videos.  I found a demonstrator (Patty Bennet) who did some thinking outside of the box.  I fell in love with her technique and decided to case it.

Using two different DSP's (Designer Series Papers) I grabbed the following supplies and began to create a vertical card:

Choosing a pattern to follow on the Simply Marbleous Paper I started blending the Granny Apple ink into the paper, following the pattern, making sure my markings went up and down, not just in one straight line.  That was followed by Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape, Fresh Freesia and Night of Navy.

I then took my paper snips and cut along the horizon of the New Horizon DSP.  I stamped the trees where I wanted to place them on the DSP and my sentiment was stamped on the snowy part of the DSP. I then adhered both DSP sheets to the Misty Moonlight Cardstock.  The Basic White Cardstock was glued on the inside of the card to write my personal message on.  And there you have it!  It turned out gorgeous.  I just love it!
