Team Challenge -- Color Combination Challenge

This month, I have been creating cards with my team.  The theme was Fall and we were creative in all that we shared.  We had to make a Baker's Dozen (thirteen cards) to include two blog hops.  One was with our Sketch Inspiration, and the other is this, our Color Combo Inspiration!

Today several of us are showing our cards that we made with the colors, Merry Merlot, Cajun Craze, Rich Razzleberry, and Crumb Cake.

  • Card base:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"Merry Merlot
  • Inside Layer 5-1/4" x 4" Basic White
  • Blessings of Home Bundle Stamp Set
  • Cottage Rose Stamp Set
  • Happiness Abounds Stamp Set
  • Stylish Shapes Dies
  • Watercolor pencils: specifically Cajun Craze and Rich Razzleberry were used
  • Crumb Cake Blending Pens; both light and dark
  • Embellishments:  Natural Finish 7/8" ribbon
  • Crumb Cake Ink Pad
  • Brushed Metallic Adhesive Dots

Other Tools:

  • Stampin' Snips
  • Take Your Pick Tool
  • Stampin' Seal
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Wink of Stella
I stamped an image from the Blessings of Home stamp set, in Crumb Cake.  I colored it with Watercolor Pencils and Blending Pens. Then I cut it out with the Flowers of Home Dies.

I stamped the happy birthday from the Happiness Abounds stamp set, in Rich Razzleberry. I used the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut that out.

I cut approximately 15" of the Natural Finish Ribbon and stamped a leaf pattern from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set, in Crumb Cake.

Using Stampin' Seal I adhered the inside layer.  I then adhered the ribbon around the card, tying it on the side of the card.

Using Stampin' Dimensionals I placed the cutout image of the flowers and then the sentiment on top of that.

After adding the Brushed Metallic Adhesive Dots, I took out my Wink of Stella to add a shimmery look.

What a New Stamper Needs

 Hello everyone!

Stay with me.  This post is a little longer than usual.

In my video, posted 8/24/22, I shared what a new stamper could use when first getting started.  These tips are for those using our card kits, or just wanting to begin creating on your own.  I used the "A Million Thanks" Card Kit.

Every Card Kit comes with a stamping block.  However, if you are nervous about stamping your image crooked, or too high, too low, etc. may I suggest purchasing our Stamparatus?  It sells for $49.00 and is quite a lifesaver!  The Stamparatus will eliminate the strain of focusing on your placement.  If your first press doesn't work, you can press the image again and not make any mistakes.  I believe this tool is fantastic for a beginner!  You may also want to consider our Paper Snips Scissors for $11.00 to cut the ribbon and/or twine in your kit.

A side tip:  When you get your kits, hang on to your Stampin' Spot, and your block.  That way, as you collect the spots you will eventually have a variety of colors to choose from.  If you collect the blocks, you can stamp with friends or family at the same time without waiting to share one block.

If you are purchasing our Paper Pumpkin kits, be sure to hang onto the block from your first kit.  The idea is that once you have a block you can keep using it with every kit that comes.  You can collect your Stampin' Spots from those kits too.

Another tool that I highly recommend when first starting is the Take Your Pick Tool, for $10.00.  This tool will assist you with picking up any adhesives or embellishments that you want to use.  It's a great tool to have when you are working with our kits.

If you prefer block stamping, you will want to consider blocks B, C, D, and H.  These blocks are the most common ones to use.

Next, let's talk about how to clean your stamps.  Stampin' Up! provides two tools that will help you keep your stamps spic and span.  Our Stampin' Scrub is available for $19.00.  It has one side that you spray with our Stampin' Mist and clean the stamp with.  On the other side of the Stampin' Scrub, you dry your stamp.  Our mist is a large 8oz. bottle for $11.00.

The second way that you can clean your stamps is with our Simply Shammy.  It is a low-cost alternative to our Stampin' Scrub.  One shammy will cost you $8.50.  All you need to do is get the shammy wet, (not soaking), and place it in a case.  The case will keep it moist from one project to the next.  Eventually, it does dry up.  You only need to get it wet again and you are set.  When working with the shammy, it will get black from all the colors blending.  Don't worry about that.  It will continue cleaning your stamps without picking up any other colors. Nice!

Fall Packaging

In our July-December 2022 Mini Catalog, you will find our Rustic Harvest Suite!  It is chocked full of special surprises!  The Designer Series Paper is gorgeous!  It comes with stamps, dies, embellishments, and an embossing kit!  You have to check it out!

Today I'm going to share with you a simple way to dress up some packaging to give a special treat to someone.

I used the gourds DSP from this suite, measured and cut out what I wanted to place on the packaging. I adhered those with our Multi-Purpose Glue I then stamped and die cut the image with the sentiment that I chose.  I adhered the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added our glittered organdy ribbon and twa-la!  I had a simple and fun package.  I filled mine with sunflower seeds, all set to give to someone who loves those seeds!

You can purchase your supplies by going to my shop or clicking on the products below to place your order.

Check out my video to see how easy it was to put this together!
