About Me

 About Me

Let me start out by saying, I am just like you.  A neighborhood gal with a job, working to make ends meet; who daily attempts to keep up with the cleaning, cooking, shopping and any other juggling act that comes my way.

I am married to Jon--20 years now--amazingly blessed, I am!    He loves woodworking and gaming.

We do not have any children, but we have one fur baby.  Her name is Oreo.  When we first met her, she was all black and white.  As she grew, a bit of brown was added to her coloring.  I often tease that we should have named her snickers.  She sure gives us lots of joy, laughter, snuggles and kisses.  We love her immensely!

We recently moved into our second home and although we are pretty much "settled in," I have been busy painting every room in the house, and am now working to set up my craft room.  Lots to do!  When guests are here, our home is theirs as well.  We want people to feel welcomed and relaxed.  We are very down to earth.  Someone told me once, "Shari, you are so real with people."  I just be myself, that's all, and that's what you will get throughout this blog.  What you see, is what you get.

Everything in my life is surrounded by the God I love.  I have a strong faith that carries me through my everyday activities.  I am captivated in the beauty and creativity of each season that has blessed me as I watch out my window. I am honored to be able to reflect on all of that, and be able to partake of the creativity through the means of stamping and making cards.

How did I become a demonstrator?

I started stamping in the late 90's for the fun of it.  I picked up supplies from the local craft stores and started to make cards for family and friends.  I enjoyed connecting with those both near and far by sending a little cheer their way.  As time went on, my desire to find different ways to make cards grew and so did my collection of things.  It wasn't until later that one of my closest friends from college became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, which actually encouraged me to look closer at their supplies, as I wanted to support her in her new endeavor.  The techniques totally intrigued me!

For the last, nearly 4 years now, I have worked in retail, in a place that caters to those that want to do DIY ( Do It Yourself) projects around their home.  I can relate to the DIY-ers, as I love to find ways to do things myself, when I can.  Recently, I began to think about what I would do once I retired.  The choice was obvious...to continue to do what I love--create and make cards for people who need to know they are thought of.

During the years of our marriage my husband has watched me make many different types of cards.  He is very supportive in my stepping into the roll of a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator.  He told me, "This is your passion, it's you!"

So, here I am!  Excited to connect with you! I hope that you will feel comfortable entering my "home," on this blog, and enjoy our conversations and the fun that we will have!

Ways to Connect:

I have come in contact with several that say, "I'm not creative.  I'm certainly not an artist."  Honestly?  I can create--often times it's a mess!  I am not an artist either.  I just love the idea of seeing all the different ways I can put something together and make it comfortable for me and enjoyable for others.

Do you want to be a DIY-er of cards, and more?  Let's explore our options together!  Be sure to check out my Club page.  It will highlight all the different ways to do so.

Attitude of Gratitude:

I want to thank my college friend, Cheryl Owczarek, who allowed me to purchase and learn from her.  I have come a long ways, girlfriend!  I also want to reach out to Dawn Olchefske, for allowing me to be a part of her team, and for taking the time to teach me all there is in this world of cards. I look forward to the fun times ahead! Thank you also to Shelli Gardner and her daughter, Sara Douglass, for inspiring, teaching, and enriching the lives of all the demonstrators.  Your products are superb, and your team support is amazing!  I am so grateful to be a part of this business!
