Father's Day Card II

Today I introduced another Father's Day Card.  Unfortunately, my video had a technical glitch and I was not able to show you the entire creative process for this card.  I'm going to do my best to explain it all in this blog.

PAPER

• Base Card: 11" x 4-1/" Pretty Peacock, scored at 5-1/2"
• Inside and Outside Layers: (2) Basic White at 5-1/4" x 4"
• Inside Border:1/2" x 4" strip of Designer Series Paper

I started by using my Stampin' Seal and placed the inside layer, with the border on the bottom, inside the card.

• Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad
• Pecan Pie Classic Stampin' Pad
• Tuxedo Black Memento Ink

Taking the outside layer, I printed the image that I needed on the card and then stamped it again on a super sticky Post It Note.  I cut around the image on the sticky note and placed it directly over the stamped image on the card.

I then stamped over the image with my Oceanfront stamp set, to create sky, water, and land. Peeling off the sticky note the image was revealed and I took my watercolor pencils and colored in the image.  Using this masking technique made it look very real as if the father and son were really definitely there.  

I finished the picture by stamping my message and adding some Linen Twine and adhesive-back stones.  (Retired set of embellishments)

Fun with Countryside Corners Suite

The last couple of entries I showed you how you can dress up an embossed card with the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder from this suite.  Today, I'm going to show you the fun that you can do with the stamp and the Countryside Designer Series Paper.

Using the largest die cut for the stamped image, and cutting out images from the DSP paper, I was able to create this cute thank you card.

Ebossing Layer Card I

This card allows you to make a beautiful embossing layer that will make your cards very inviting!  I got this idea from Lisa Freeman, another Stampin' Up Demonstrator.  She's been with Stampin' Up for 20 years or more and she has a lot of great ideas!  Thanks for sharing this, Lisa!
