October Sketch Challenge

It's that time again, for another sketch challenge with my team!  This is the sketch that was given to us.

I chose to make a very simple, yet pretty card for Christmas. I've been contemplating between two different layouts to make my own Christmas cards for this year.  This just may be it!

Here's what I used to make this card:

  • Card base:  5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
  • Inside Layer: 5-1/4" x 4" Basic White
  • Designer Series Paper (DSP):  3" x 4" of the 12' x 12" Boughs of Holly
  • Long Piece:  5-1/4" x 2" Mossy Meadow Cardstock
  • Stitched Rectangle Dies
  • Hope & Peace Cling Stamp Set
  • Bow: Gold & Vanilla 3/8" Satin Edged Ribbon
  • Stampin' Seal
  • Mini Glue Dots
  • Mini Cut & Emboss Machine
  • Paper Snips

I cut my sentiment piece, using the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine, from the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

I stamped my sentiment on it using the Hope & Peace Cling Stamp Set

I took my Paper Snips and cut a 12" piece of ribbon.

Once my stamping and cutting were done, I used my Stampin' Seal to seal the inside layer to the inside of my card.  I chose not to stamp anything on the inside.

Then I took the Mossy Meadow piece and adhered it to the lower front, centering it on the card base.
Next, I took the DSP piece and placed that off towards the right, leaving about a 1/2" of the bottom of the Mossy Meadow piece uncovered. Final piece to adhere was the sentiment off to the left-hand side of the card, leaving a 1/4" from the bottom of the Mossy Meadow Piece. The final touch was to add the bow with a Mini Glue Dot.
