Rubber Band Technique

This past month, my team leader, Dawn Olchefske, introduced us to a new technique to use in our card making.  It is called the rubber band technique.  It's really cool, really easy, and lots of fun!

All you need to do is wrap one or more rubber band(s) around a stamping block.  I used three different rubber bands, each one a little wider/thicker than the other.  You just ink up your rubber band(s) and press them on your paper.  Each time you do it, the design can turn out a little different from the previous one.

Here's what I used to make mine:

  • Pacific Point 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cardstock
  • Bermuda Bay 2 x 5-1/4 Cardstock
  • 5-1/4 x 4 Basic White Cardstock
  • Scraps of -- Garden Green, Flirty Flamingo, and Coastal Cabana Cardstocks
  • Irresistible Blooms Bundle (stamps & die cuts)
  • Rubber Band(s)
  • Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch
  • Bone Folder
  • Stampin' Seal
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Mini GlueDots
  • Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Stamp n' Scrub

First, I did all of my stamping, including my images, sentiment, and side column.  If you want, you can also stamp the inside of your card.

Second, I cut out my images with the die cuts.  Remember, if you purchase the stamps and die cuts as a bundle, you get 10% off!

Thirdly, I assembled the card together.

You can follow my YouTube video to see how this card is made.  If you wish to purchase any of the products used in today's video/blog, you can go to my shop, use Host Code:  XHTAPSVX.  You can also click on the product below and it will take you to my shop.  Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Happy Stamping!
