Fractured Card Technique

I spent some time today looking for ideas for different techniques and ways to make cards. Once in a while, as a crafter, your mind needs a little more inspiration!  😊

Today I'm going to share with you a technique that seems to have become a bit popular, and I found it fairly easy to make!  I got this idea from Lynn Dunn, Stamptastic Designs, another Stampin' Up demonstrator.

Here's what you will need:

PAPER:

  • 4" x 5-1/4" of a Designer Series Paper (DSP) that you want to use. Choose this piece first and then find your desired color scheme based on your DSP paper.  I used Glorious Gingham, 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper.  The color I chose was the Blueberry Bushel -- large Gingham sheet.
  • 5-1/2" X 8-1/2", (scored at 4-1/4") of a coordinating color cardstock.  I used the Blueberry Bushel.
  • I cut (4) 1/4" X 5-1/2" strips using the Blueberry Bushel cardstock.
  • Basic White, 2-3/8" square
  • Other Cardstock used was:
    • Berry Burst
    • Fresh Freesia
    • Early Espresso
    • Holographic Trio 12" X 12" Specialty Designer Paper

STAMPS & BUNDLES

  • Using the Stylish Shapes Dies, I chose the 2-3/8" square.  You will want to use a shape that will be 2-3/8" or smaller in order to work with this card technique.
  • I then used the Share a Milkshake Bundle to make my focal point.

  • Berry Burst Classic Stamp Pad

  • Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad
