Team Challenge--Double Tag Sentiment

Each month my team leader has us take a look at a sketch and then challenges us to come up with our own creation.  We can make it look exactly like the sketch, or, put together our own creative project.  This month we were challenged with this sketch:

It's a double tag to put a sentiment on and then adhere to your card.  The following is my creation:

These are the products used to make this project:
  • Basic Black Cardstock
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock
  • 2-3/8" Circle Punch
  • Decorative Circle Punch
  • Circle Saying Photopolymer Stamp Set
  • (2) 9" strips of the Black and Very Vanilla Large Check 3/8" Ribbon
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue
  • Take Your Pick Tool

After punching out the circles, I stamped my sentiment on the Very Vanilla piece.  Using the multipurpose glue I adhered the top-left half of the piece to the black circle.  On each end of the circles, I pierced a hole with my Take Your Pick Tool.  Using both strips of the ribbon I pulled the ends through the holes and tied a knot on each end.  Very simple, but I think it looks cute!

Thanks for joining my blog post today!  To see other creative projects, click on the names below and see what my teammates came up with!

Embossed Cards

There are many ways to emboss a card, however. today I am sharing with you the simplest option.  That is through the use of an embossing folder.  Placing your cardstock in an embossing folder and running it through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine goes quickly and raises images that make your cards elegant and fun to create!  This example is a Christmas or seasonal card using the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder.

Here's what you will need:

PAPER
  • Base card:  5-1/2" X 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4" Night of Navy Cardstock
  • Outside Layer: 4" X 5-1/4" Boho Blue Cardstock
  • Inside Layer: 4" X 5-1/4" Basic White
STAMPS AND EMBOSSING FOLDERS

Two Sided DSP

If you are looking for an idea of how to get rid of some of the Designer Series Paper that you have extra of around the house, today's card is a very simple card to help you use it up.  This is so simple that you could make several cards at one time using a set of the DSP.  Lots of thank you cards or birthday cards, etc. I got this idea from Jackie Bohluis, Klompen Stampers, another Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

Here's what you will need:

PAPER:

  • You will need a 6" X 6" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) that has two sides that you would like together.  I used the Countryside Inn 12" x12" DSP and cut it down to the 6" X 6".  From this smaller piece of paper, you will make several cuts:
    • 3/4" X 6" is cut on one side, you won't need this strip, but the end that you cut it off from will become the "bottom" of your sheet.
    • (2) 1"- 5-1/4" cut from the right side of your sheet.
    • You should now have a piece that is 4" X 5-1/4" left over.
  • Next you will cut a 5-1/2 "square of a coordinating cardstock. Score at 1" on one side of the square. I used Night of Navy Cardstock
  • Basic White 8-1/2" X 11" Thick Cardstock for your sentiment
Be sure to watch the video on how to assemble.  It is so unbelievably easy and makes a fun, creative card!

STAMPS:
  • Go To Greetings
INK:
  • Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad
EMBELLISHMENTS:
  • You can use whatever you want, I chose to make a bow with the Boho Blue 3/8" Textured Ribbon
ADHESIVES:
  • Stampin Seal
  • Multipurpose Glue
  • Mini Glue Dots
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
TOOLS:
  • Bone Folder
  • Oval Punch
  • Paper Trimmer

You can go to my shop to purchase any products used in today's project, or you can click on the product below.  That will take you to my shop. Be sure to check out the video that shows just how to assemble this card.  You won't believe how simple it is!  Thanks for joining me today!  Be sure to hit the like and subscribe buttons and let your friends about this blog as well.  Have a great day, and Happy Stampin'!

Fractured Card Technique

I spent some time today looking for ideas for different techniques and ways to make cards. Once in a while, as a crafter, your mind needs a little more inspiration!  😊

Today I'm going to share with you a technique that seems to have become a bit popular, and I found it fairly easy to make!  I got this idea from Lynn Dunn, Stamptastic Designs, another Stampin' Up demonstrator.

Here's what you will need:

PAPER:

  • 4" x 5-1/4" of a Designer Series Paper (DSP) that you want to use. Choose this piece first and then find your desired color scheme based on your DSP paper.  I used Glorious Gingham, 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper.  The color I chose was the Blueberry Bushel -- large Gingham sheet.
  • 5-1/2" X 8-1/2", (scored at 4-1/4") of a coordinating color cardstock.  I used the Blueberry Bushel.
  • I cut (4) 1/4" X 5-1/2" strips using the Blueberry Bushel cardstock.
  • Basic White, 2-3/8" square
  • Other Cardstock used was:
    • Berry Burst
    • Fresh Freesia
    • Early Espresso
    • Holographic Trio 12" X 12" Specialty Designer Paper

STAMPS & BUNDLES

  • Using the Stylish Shapes Dies, I chose the 2-3/8" square.  You will want to use a shape that will be 2-3/8" or smaller in order to work with this card technique.
  • I then used the Share a Milkshake Bundle to make my focal point.

INKS

  • Berry Burst Classic Stamp Pad
  • Fresh Freesia Classic Stamp Pad
  • Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad

ADHESIVES

  • Stampin' Seal
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

TOOLS

  • Bone Folder
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
